Meet the people and read about the history of the Fox & Hounds
About the Team
Caroline and Graham took over the pub in June 2012 from friends Chris and Mel and have continued to enhance the excellent reputation the pub has for offering great quality food, wines and ales in a very relaxed friendly environment for both locals and new customers.
They have a fantastic team which includes their son Nathan, daughter Melissa and a huddle of very friendly loyal staff who have been together from the start, some of whom worked here before Caroline and Graham took over and last but not least their dog Brady, who is the star attraction for all the children that come to the pub throughout the year.
The Head Chef Jan-Erik worked with Chris and Mel from the start to transform the pub and build the great reputation it currently has. With his dedicated team he endeavours to deliver a most enjoyable, very satisfying dining experience.
About the Fox & Hounds
The Fox & Hounds is situated in a picturesque location on the banks of the Basingstoke Canal, which courses through the village of Church Crookham. The village has grown from a small hamlet of ancient cottages, with buildings representative of almost every period and style of village architecture.
About the Basingstoke Canal
The construction of the Basingstoke Canal started in 1778, flowing from Basingstoke in Hampshire through to its junction with the River Wey Navigation in Surrey – being purposely built for the transportation of coal, manufactured goods, timber, grain and malt. Its restoration began in 1973, creating what is regarded today as one of the most beautiful canals in the country. It exists as a public amenity catering for boaters, walkers, canoeists, anglers and naturalists.
